Installation Issues

Java 2 Standard Edition, Version 1.4.x

The Client for Java requires Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE), Version 1.4.x or later. The Microsoft JVM is no longer supported. Note that within a deployment comprising Web Interface, the Version 8 client is deployed for use with the Microsoft JVM.

Launching the Client for Java on a server running MetaFrame Presentation Server

To launch the Client for Java on a server running MetaFrame Presentation Server (for example, for test purposes), enable the Java Plug-in as the default Java Runtime for your web browser. This is configured using the Java Control Panel. The JRE installed as part of a MetaFrame Presentation Server installation is not automatically registered as the default Java Runtime with any installed web browsers.
